Message from the Principal

Dear Families and Community Members,

The Clairview School’s mission is to provide standards-aligned instruction that results in the highest possible level of post-secondary, career, and independent living readiness for all learners. Every learner in grades K-12 participates throughout the year in activities with real-world applications: meal planning and preparation, community-based instruction, functional reading and math, career exploration, and more. Our philosophy is simple- we believe that all children deserve the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and positive environment.

In addition to academic and functional instruction, Clairview offers the following services on site:

  • Nursing
  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Vision Therapy
  • Deaf/Hard of Hearing Services
  • Speech and Language Therapy
  • Counseling
  • Work Discovery

Enrollment at Clairview School is contingent upon the agreement of the IEP team which must include the family/guardian and the local education agency representative (LEA) in addition to Clairview staff. We are happy to provide tours during the regular school day (8:00-2:10) to prospective families who have communicated with their LEAs about finding a new educational placement for their children.

This website is a repository of information and resources for current and future learners and families. The links will introduce you to a multitude of programs, services, and activities available around Westmoreland County. Clairview staff will be happy to speak with you should you need more information; please contact the school at 724-837-9465.

Sincerely,

Rebecca McGee, EdD

Principal, Clairview School
